Discover Collegiate Quiz Bowl at GCCC
Are you currently a member of the Quiz Bowl or Scholars Bowl Team at your High School? Or have you ever played Bible Bowl? Would you enjoy playing on a collegiate team? We are looking for student players with a love of physical science, social science, math, history, geography, art, literature, or weird random knowledge.
Garden City Community College has a very competitive program that offers tuition and book scholarships as well as cash scholarships for qualified players. Our team is well known at the state and national level. The team won the state competition in 2010 and again in 2012. We also qualified for the National Academic Quiz Bowl in 2010 and 2012. The team in 2012 placed higher at the National competition than any team from Kansas has ever placed. The team travels to six tournaments a year.
Meet the Coach: Jeanie Ferguson
Jeanie Ferguson is the English as a Second Language instructor at Garden City Community College. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, her Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University, and her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from The Pennsylvania State University. She has been the AEC coach since 2014.
