Physics
How did the universe start? How will it end? What is a black hole? Is time travel possible?
If questions like these excite you, then physics (the study of matter, energy, and the interaction between them) may be in your future! Come to GCCC to earn an Associate Degree in Science with an emphasis in physics, and we will help you find answers to these and other questions about physical phenomena!
Math and Science Division Expert's Corner
A physics degree from Garden City Community College will give you the background that four-year universities require for their own undergraduate preparation in this exciting and complex field. According to our own instructors, physics spans dimensions from that of the nucleus of an atom to the vast universe itself!
The study of physics utilizes skills such as math, analysis, software, and clear communications. Graduates in this multi-faceted field are employed in diverse occupations such as research, medicine, software design, finance, and much more.
Class Size & Advisement
Many of our physics classes are capped at under 20 students, which means plenty of one-on-one time with our instructors in and out of the classroom. Our science faculty can guide you to help meet your educational and career goals and assist with your transition to a four-year university to continue your studies.
