Mercer Gallery to Host GCHS Student Awards Art Exhibition

[Garden City, KS] January 13, 2021 -- The Mercer Gallery is pleased to host student artwork from Garden City High School students for the first exhibition of 2021.  The students' work will be on display from January 14th - February 5th.

The Garden City High School Student Awards Art Exhibition is an annual event co-hosted by GCCC and GCHS to showcase our community's emerging artists.  This event allows the Mercer Gallery to recognize budding talent and provide a professional forum for young people to experience the competition they will encounter in their college applications, portfolio reviews, and future art careers.

The Mercer Gallery, located in the west wing of the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building on the GCCC campus, is open Monday through Fridays, from 9 AM to 4 PM, and Thursdays from 9 AM to 9 PM. For more information, contact Gallery Director, Michael Knutson, michael.knutson@gcccks.edu.

When visiting the Gallery, masks are required, and social distancing is encouraged.  The Gallery is limited to no more than 12 people at one time.  Additional COVID-19 information as it pertains to GCCC can be found here.

GCCC Visual Arts Faculty will award Merit awards and Honorable Mention awards, and all participants will be eligible to apply for the GCCC Visual Arts Grant in Aid Scholarship.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no reception for this exhibition; however, a video awards ceremony will occur on February 5th.
