GCCC to Host Information Event for Future Teachers on March 5
[Garden City, KS] January 12, 2026 -- Garden City Community College (GCCC) will host the second annual, So You Want To Be a Teacher?! event on Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM in the GCCC Thomas Saffell Library Lobby (801 Campus Drive, Garden City, KS). This information fair is for high school and college students, paraprofessionals, and other aspiring educators interested in pursuing a career in education.
“This event is a one-stop opportunity for anyone considering a career in education,” said Layla Martinez, GCCC Associate Professor of Education. “Attendees can explore pathways, meet potential employers, and start planning their future.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- -Connect with transfer university representatives to develop personalized academic plans.
- -Meet with area school districts seeking future educators.
- -Engage with GCCC faculty and staff, including representatives from the Education Department, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Advising.
Attendee Registration

Booth Registration
Colleges, universities, and school districts are invited to showcase their education programs and employment opportunities at the event by registering for a free booth.
