GCCC Endowment Association Awards 2026 Mini-Grants to Support Student Learning

[Garden City, KS] May 8, 2026 -- The Garden City Community College Endowment Association (GCCCEA) has awarded four mini-grants for 2026, providing targeted funding for equipment and instructional resources that directly enhance student learning across campus.

Through a competitive application process, GCCC faculty and staff submitted proposals requesting support for high-impact needs within their programs. A review committee evaluated each submission based on student impact, urgency of need, and available funding.

In total, $5,081 was awarded to the following departments:

  • Department of Public Safety — $1,781
    • Funding will support the purchase of five cameras to enhance Criminal Investigations courses, mock crime scene scenarios, and intercollegiate competition preparation.
  • Athletic Training — $1,300
    • Funding will provide training devices to strengthen hands-on emergency response training for students.
  • Health, Physical Education, Exercise Science, and Recreation (HPER) — $1,000
    • Funding will be used to purchase physical education equipment to expand activity-based instruction and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Orchestra — $1,000
    • Funding will support the purchase of music stand racks and stands for the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building, benefiting both college and community ensemble rehearsals.

The GCCCEA Mini-Grant program continues to play a vital role in supporting innovative teaching and learning at GCCC by investing in resources that make an immediate impact in the classroom and beyond.
