Veteran's Day Event - Tuskegee Airmen

Garden City Community College is pleased to invite the community to a special event in honor of Veteran’s Day on Friday, November 8th at 10:00 AM inside the KCB Bank Auditorium located in the Pauline Joyce Fine Arts Building at GCCC.

The event will honor the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, a distinguished group of African American military pilots and airmen who bravely served during World War II. Renowned for their contributions as part of the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces, the Tuskegee Airmen were trained at Tuskegee University, which featured an airfield and a civilian pilot training program. They are often referred to as the “Red Tails” or “Red-Tail Angels” due to the distinctive markings on their aircraft.

During the event, members of the Tuskegee Airmen will share their inspiring stories and experiences. The event is proudly sponsored by the Southwest Kansas Honor Guard and the Finney County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
