First-Generation Mixer

The Student Support Services (SSS) TRIO program at Garden City Community College (GCCC) is excited to host a First-Generation Mixer on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Thomas Saffell Library Lobby. The event is open to GCCC students, employees, and community members.

“First-generation students are the first in their families to earn a bachelor’s degree,” said Dana Nanninga, GCCC Director of SSS. “We want to celebrate our first-gen students, employees, and community members for breaking barriers and pursuing academic success.”

The First-Generation Mixer will bring together first-generation students, faculty, staff, and community members to network, share experiences, and build connections, all while enjoying appetizers and drinks. This event provides an important opportunity to inspire and empower first-generation students as they navigate their educational and professional journeys.
