Legal Minds Academy
Garden City Community College is partnering with Washburn University School of Law to present Legal Minds Academy, a free, one-day event that invites high school students to explore the exciting world of law through hands-on experiences and expert guidance.
The event will take place on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, at GCCC. It is open to all high school students interested in legal careers or simply curious about how the law works. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
At Legal Minds Academy, students will:
- Learn from real lawyers and judges
- Visit the County Courthouse to see the legal process in action
- Engage in a Q&A session with the County Attorney
- Participate in law-themed games and activities
- Enjoy lunch with legal professionals and law enthusiasts
