GCCCA Celebrates 2023 National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week

[Garden City, KS] September 18, 2023 -- The Garden City Career Connection Academy (GCCCA), a division of GCCC, will celebrate 2023 National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week from September 18th to September 22nd.

This week highlights the success of adult education and celebrates all adult students who have chosen to continue their education. It also seeks to raise public awareness about the need for and value of adult education and family literacy.

Claudia Horney, GCCCA Director, shared the importance of adult education. "The speed of today's changes calls for opportunities to learn. The adult programs offered by GCCCA helps learners to become self-sufficient and participate as better workers, family members, and citizens. Adult learning sets an excellent example for present and future generations."

She continued, "Here, at GCCCA, we are inspired every day by the students. For example, we see our adult learners coming to school by riding public transportation, riding bikes, or even walking to school, no matter the weather. This dedication shows how much they care about learning. They invite others to be better, to push harder, and to go further."

Adult Education can help build a solid career, allowing adults to keep up with the changing times. Education is a life-long journey, and one of the significant characteristics of education is that it has no age. The Garden City Career Connection Academy would like to thank all educators who work hard in this field, those who put passion and compassion into this duty, and those who understand the needs of adult learners.
