Thomas F. Saffell Library

The Thomas F. Saffell Library is the heart of academic life at Garden City Community College. Whether you're researching a paper, studying for an exam, or looking for a quiet place to focus, the library has the resources and spaces to help you succeed.
Students have access to millions of articles, journals, magazines, newspapers, eBooks, and other online resources through the library's extensive collection of databases. Prefer a physical book? Browse the library's large print collection, conveniently organized for easy access.
The library offers a variety of study spaces, including individual study carrels with computers, group study rooms, and open tables for collaboration. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, so you're welcome to bring your own laptop or device.
The library is also home to the Mary Jo Williams Comprehensive Learning Center (CLC) and the Communication Center which both other tutoring and resources to help you succeed in your classes.

Off-Campus Access for Research Databases
Saffell Library users may now access all of our research databases off-campus. By clicking on the links above, students will be asked to input their college issued network credentials* as follows:
USERNAME: firstname.lastname (i.e., john.doe)
PASSWORD: Your initial Password is the first initial of your first name (lowercase), the first initial of your last name (uppercase) and your birthdate (8 digits) in the MMDDYYYY format (i.e., if your name is 'John Doe' and your DOB is March 20, 1985, your password is jD03201985)
*Note: Staff and Faculty will continue to use their respective network login usernames and passwords.
