Communication Center
The Communication Center is located in the Saffell Library.
To find the Communication Center Zoom schedule and request an appointment, log in to Canvas, click "Communication Center" under your list of courses.
What We Do:
- Discuss the assignment with you
- Work with you to brainstorm topics
- Work with you to create an outline
- Help you improve organization & clarity
- Review basic grammar & punctuation rules
- Discuss key concepts of "good" writing
- Read aloud with you & discuss your written piece
- Give you feedback on your writing
- Guide you to effectively rewrite & revise your work
- Help you develop skills to critique & evaluate your own writing style
- Provide handouts that review basic writing skills & rules
What We Don't Do:
- Proofread your paper, marking errors
- "Fix" problems without your input
- Write or rewrite your paper for you
Items to Bring with You:
- Your instructor's assignment sheet
- Any handouts & notes related to the assignment
- Specific questions about your writing
- 2 printed copies of your draft without written edits
