At Garden City Community College, we care about your well-being. Whether you're feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed, or experiencing thoughts of suicide, there are people who want to support you.


If You're Thinking About Suicide

If you're having thoughts of suicide or feel like you are in crisis, please reach out. You don't have to face this alone.

During college hours, contact the Counseling Office:

Free and confidential counseling is available to all GCCC students.

If it's after hours or you need immediate support:

  • Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Contact your local mental health crisis services by calling 620-276-7689.

If You're Concerned About a Student's Mental Health or Safety

If you're worried about a friend, classmate, or another student, trust your instincts. Reaching out could make a difference.

The Counseling Office can provide confidential guidance on how to support a student who may be struggling.

If you believe a student may be at risk, you can also submit a Safety Assessment Form so the appropriate campus staff can follow up.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call 911 or contact GCCC Campus Police at 620-272-6828.
