Program Overview
The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program at Garden City Community
College prepares students to provide advanced pre-hospital emergency care. Students
build on basic emergency medical skills and learn how to respond effectively in critical,
life-threatening situations.
Advanced Emergency Care Training
Students master higher-level procedures such as cardiac monitoring and specialized
medication administration. This training bridges the gap between basic EMT care and
paramedic-level services, focusing on stabilizing patients in urgent situations.
Hands-On Simulation and Field Experience
Training takes place in state-of-the-art simulation labs using advanced airway mannequins
and realistic emergency scenarios. Students also gain field experience through ride-alongs
with paramedics and firefighters.
Career Pathways
Graduates are prepared to enter the workforce as Emergency Medical Technicians or
continue their education toward paramedic-level certification, with the skills and
confidence to respond when every second counts.
