Meet the Team
Reyna Garcia
President
Hi, my name is Reyna Garcia, and I am a sophomore here at GCCC. I am the SGA President
this year, where I oversee and help lead our Student Government Association and work
alongside our members to represent the student body, organize events, and make a positive
impact on campus. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, shopping, lifting weights,
and playing pickleball. I am currently a Business major, and in the future, my goal
is to become an entrepreneur and start my own business. I am excited for this year
and our new SGA team, and I look forward to seeing all the great events we have planned!
Andrea Alvarado Monroy
Secretary
Hi! My name is Andrea Alvarado Monroy, and I am a freshman at GCCC majoring in Pre-Health
occupations. I am the Secretary for SGA, which means I take notes and meeting minutes
to help keep our meetings organized. I am also involved in TRIO and enjoy being involved
on campus. Outside of school, I like spending time with my family and friends, traveling,
and enjoying new things. In the future, I hope to transfer to the University of Kansas
to continue my education. If I decide to stay in the healthcare field, I hope to attend
medical school. I am excited to work with our SGA team this year and help make GCCC
a fun and welcoming place for all students.
Veronica McCallum
Vice President
Hi! My name is Veronica McCallum, and I’m a sophomore. I am the Vice President for
SGA, which means that I help organize student government at GCCC. I am an Art major,
and I am also involved in Speech and Debate, GC3 Media, Art Club, and the Quizards
team. When I’m not at a club activity, I like to lift weights, make jewelry, and read.
In the long term, I hope to graduate and transfer to Kansas State University to get
my bachelor's degree. After that, I hope to be accepted into law school, pass the
bar, and become a civil attorney. For now, though, I look forward to working with
SGA to create a fulfilling college experience for GCCC students.
Anthony Janas
Treasurer
Hi! My name is Anthony Janas, and I’m a sophomore at GCCC. I am the Treasurer for
SGA, which means it’s my duty to track the funds and make sure budgets are set and
met. My major is Biology. In the long term, when my time here is done, I hope to pursue
a bachelor’s degree in biology at KU and then hopefully apply and get accepted to
the medical school there. For now, though, I look forward to working with SGA to uphold
a welcoming and exciting environment for students and faculty members! I hope I can
see you around!
Jaiden Olvedo
PR Director (Communications & Engagement)
Hi! My name is Jaiden Olvedo, and I’m a sophomore here at GCCC. I am the Director
of Communications & Engagement for SGA, where I coordinate publicity, marketing, and
communications efforts. My major is Exercise Science. I am also involved in G-SALT
and athletic training, and I am a President Ambassador. In the long term, after this
year, I hope to transfer to Wichita State to pursue my master’s degree in athletic
training. Later, I hope to join a Division 1 or professional team for athletic training
to help athletes pursue their dreams and recover so they can get back to what they
love. But for now, I hope to help everyone feel welcome this year with SGA, and I
look forward to making GCCC feel like home for you!
