GCCC Endowment Association Celebrates Scholarship Recipients and Donor Impact
The Garden City Community College (GCCC) Endowment Association celebrated the generosity of donors and the achievements of student scholarship recipients during its annual Scholarship Celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026, at the Dennis Perryman Athletic Complex. More than 300 students, donors, guests, board members, and GCCC employees gathered for an evening recognizing the impact of scholarships on students and the future of Southwest Kansas.
The celebration brought scholarship recipients and the donors who help make their educational journeys possible together over a shared meal. The event highlighted the power of community support in helping students pursue their education, reach their goals, and prepare for future careers. Following dinner, GCCC Presidential Ambassadors presented prize baskets provided by the Endowment Association Board to six scholarship recipients.
“The Scholarship Celebration is one of the most meaningful events we host each year,” said Scott Kedrowski, GCCC Dean of Advancement and Alumni Relations. “It’s a night that reminds us why scholarships matter. They not only ease financial burdens but also create lasting connections between those who give and those who benefit.”
This year, GCCC awarded more than 600 scholarships, made possible through the generosity of donors and the continued support of the Endowment Association. Each scholarship represents an investment in a student's potential and helps make higher education more accessible. By supporting students as they work toward their degrees and career goals, donors also contribute to the long-term strength and prosperity of Southwest Kansas.
The annual celebration serves as a reminder that behind every scholarship is a community committed to helping students succeed.
