GCCC to Host Western Kansas ICCAE Bootcamp on May 29

[Garden City, KS] May 5, 2025 -- Garden City Community College (GCCC) is pleased to announce it will host the 2025 Western Kansas Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence (ICCAE) Bootcamp on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The event is designed for students interested in pursuing careers in cybersecurity, information technology, criminal justice, biotechnology, and health sciences.

Area high school students and students from GCCC, Dodge City Community College (DCCC), and Seward County Community College (SCCC) are invited to attend a day-long program featuring interactive activities led by university professors from across Kansas.

This year’s bootcamp theme, "Zombie Intelligence" or ZOMBINT!!", will offer participants an engaging exploration of real-world applications within intelligence-related fields. Students will also have the opportunity to learn about career pathways within the U.S. Intelligence Community, including agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), National Security Agency (NSA), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and Military Intelligence sectors.

  • Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Check-in and breakfast available from 8:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.)
  • Location: Garden City Community College STEM Success Center, 801 Campus Drive, Garden City, Kansas

Each student who attends the entire event will receive a $175 gift card. Students must provide either a Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN) to receive the gift card and are asked to bring appropriate documentation on the day of the event.

Registration is required and now open. Students should select the ticket corresponding to the community college they currently attend or plan to attend after high school graduation. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.

The 2025 ICCAE Bootcamp is sponsored by Garden City Community College, Dodge City Community College, Seward County Community College, the University of Kansas Edwards Campus, and the Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence.

GCCC’s participation in this event is part of its partnership with the University of Kansas through the Kansas Consortium of the Intelligence Community Centers for Academic Excellence (ICCAE). The ICCAE initiative aims to prepare students with the analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills necessary for careers in the U.S. Intelligence Community and related industries.
