GCCC Endowment Sees Success with 44th Annual Phonathon
[Garden City, KS] October 17, 2023 -- Thanks to the efforts of students, staff, and community volunteers, over $30,000 in donations to the Garden City Community College Endowment Association were pledged during the 44th Annual Phonathon.
"This campaign was a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, staff, and community members who came together to support our mission of providing scholarships to deserving GCCC students," said Lenzy Kuebler, Director of Endowment Association and Annual Giving. She continued, "The funds raised through this Phonathon campaign will play a vital role in supporting our students' educational journey. Scholarships have a profound impact on the lives of our students, removing financial barriers and allowing them to pursue their dreams and goals."
The Endowment Association held its annual fundraising event from Oct. 2-12, 2023, making calls and requesting donations inside the BTSC Ronald J. Scott Endowment Room. Together, student and individual volunteers raised $30,940 in pledges over the two-week period. The following groups participated in the event: Meats Judging Team, Rodeo Team, Department of Public Safety, Fine Arts, HALO/LULAC, Cosmetology Department, Nursing Department, and GCCC Endowment Association Board Members/Ambassadors.
The GCCC Endowment Association is especially grateful for the continued support of United Wireless, who once again donated the phones and airtime necessary to conduct the Phonathon.
"Without their support, Phonathon would not be possible," Lenzy said. "We would also like to thank Milligan Enterprises/Garden City Area McDonalds and Freddy's for donating food and beverage coupons for our student volunteers."
