GCCC BOT Approve Banking Services and Plumbing Contract
[Garden City, KS] April 19, 2023 -- The Garden City Community College Board of Trustees approved comprehensive banking services and a plumbing contract during the regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 18, 2023.
GCCC issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the college's Comprehensive Banking Services to include depository services, positive pay services, remote deposit capture, electronic funds transfer, cash management and investment services, electronic banking, and merchant services. After administrative review and evaluation, the Board accepted the recommendation to utilize KCB Bank for GCCC's comprehensive banking services effective July 1, 2023.
The Board approved a plumbing contract from Central Consolidated Inc. for $173,993.15 to replace all cast iron DWV pipe and domestic hot and cold water supply piping in the restrooms on each floor of West Hall.
One executive session was held and no action was taken.
The Board unanimously voted for a one-year extension of Dr. Ruda's presidential contract.
Before ending the meeting, the Trustees toured the construction site of the new STEM Success Center, a 10,000 square feet addition to the Warren Fouse Science and Math building. This will add classroom, lab, office, and collaboration space dedicated to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and is on track to open for the Fall 2023 semester.
The next meeting of the Board of Trustees is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 6 p.m. in the Logan Aviation Endowment Room inside the Beth Tedrow Student Center at GCCC.
