12 Angry Jurors is a stage adaptation inspired by Reginald Rose’s Emmy Award-winning television movie 12 Angry Men. The courtroom drama follows 12 jurors as they deliberate a life-or-death murder case.
What initially appears to be an open-and-shut case begins to unravel as one juror questions the evidence and encourages the others to reconsider their assumptions, biases, and beliefs. As the deliberations continue, tensions rise, and each juror’s personality and perspective come to light. The jurors re-examine testimony, reconstruct the events of the crime, and confront their own personal beliefs as they work toward a unanimous verdict.
The production is directed by William Schlichter, GCCC Associate Professor of English, with Lexi Blackburn serving as stage manager. The cast of 12 Angry Jurors includes:
- Foreperson: Helen Weeks
- Juror #2: Zephyr Hernandez
- Juror #3: David Burdett
- Juror #4: Courtney Branham
- Juror #5: Stacey Marquez
- Juror #6: James McGowan
- Juror #7: Diane Marshall
- Juror #8: Michael Sanders
- Juror #9: Camden Bergkemp
- Juror #10: Dayani Perez
- Juror #11: A’Lana Bates
- Juror #12: Hannah Marshall

“12 Angry Jurors gives audiences a compelling look at the responsibility that comes with making a decision that can change someone’s life,” Schlichter said. “The play challenges us to examine evidence carefully, question our assumptions, and understand the importance of hearing different perspectives.”
