Monthly Free Interactive Puppet Theater Shows Returning to GCCC

[Garden City, KS] August 18, 2023 -- The Western Kansas Children's Puppet Theater, presented by Brett Crandall Studios, will return to Garden City Community College this year with free monthly puppet shows. The shows are funded through the Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF) and the GCCC Endowment Association.

The 2023-2024 season will feature three shows, L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Aug-Oct), Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol (Nov-Jan), and Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist (Feb-Apr). The interactive performances will be held at GCCC in the Beth Tedrow Student Center (BTSC) Endowment Room.

Oliver Twist | 2:00 PM | GCCC BTSC Endowment Room | Runtime: 40 minutes

In addition to the monthly shows at GCCC, Brett Crandall Studios will offer touring productions for schools, libraries, and community organizations to book at no cost. For one week of each month, the puppet shows will be accessible to young audiences in WKCF's service area (Finney, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Haskell, Kearny, Lane, Meade, Morton, Scott, Seward, Stanton, Stevens, and Wichita County).

The following week-long blocks are available, at no cost, for area organizations to book. There is a limit of three touring performances available per block; each of the three shows will be available only once per organization.

  • - Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol (Runtime: 40min) - November 27-December 3, December 11-17, January 22-28, 2024
  • - Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist (Runtime: 40 min) - February 19-25, March 25-31, April 22-28
