About the Program

Program Overview
The Crop Production Technology program at Garden City Community College prepares students for careers in agriculture and agronomy-related fields. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on learning to build a strong foundation in modern crop production.

Hands-On, Science-Based Learning
Students learn how to analyze crop health, understand crop needs, and apply scientific principles to improve production. Training also includes the use of innovative technology to support efficient and effective farming practices.

Certificate in Crop Production Technology - 17 credit hours

CROP.CERTA - is for the student that is wanting to gain some basic knowledge before heading in to the workforce but does not need a 2-year degree for their desired employment.

Certificate in Crop Production Technology - 32 credit hours

CROP.CERTB - is for the student that has earned their Cert A and is wanting to continue to learn about crop production to advance themselves in their workplace.

Certificate in Crop Production Technology - 47 credit hours

CROP.CERTC - is a degree that stacks the previous Certs and combines a few extra crop production related courses to complete a program level certificate.

Associate in Science - 60 credit hours

CROP.AS - this is the ideal pathway for a student wanting to transfer to a 4-year university to continue their education and learning experiences in agronomy or a related field.

Associate in Applied Science - 64 credit hours

CROP.AAS - the Associate of Applied Science degree gives students an in-depth level of knowledge perfect for going straight in to the workforce.
