Senator Pat Roberts Visits the GCCC Campus, Tuesday, February 21

Senator Pat Roberts visited the Garden City Community College campus on Tuesday, February 21. Tours for the day included Task Force Broncbuster, the John Deere Tech program, and the meats judging team. Senator Roberts also stopped by a GCCC Department of Public Safety Class and a Horse Science class. He visited with GCCC students in the classrooms, and helped DPS students answer test questions.

Senator Roberts shared his thoughts on the tour later at a press conference in the GCCC President’s Office. Said Roberts, “This is a wonderful school. Our community colleges across the country, but more importantly here, (at GCCC) it is a hands-on approach, and such an important component to education.”

Roberts, serves on the Health, Education and Labor Pensions Committee and the Ag and Finance committees. Roberts said the HELP committee will be working on a higher education bill this year. He shared that he will keep community colleges and his visit to GCCC in mind when working on those bills.
