KANSAS ARMY NATIONAL GUARD COMMUNITY CONNECT AT GCCC

Two Black Hawk helicopters piloted and crewed by Kansas Army National Guard Soldiers flew from the Army Aviation Facility #2 in Salina to GCCC for an orientation flight, March 30, 2017. The flight was a part of the KANG Community Connect event, and a way to inform educators and centers of influence about the mission of the Kansas National Guard.

The flight marked another celebration of the unique partnership between GCCC and the Kansas Army and Air National Guard. The Task Force Broncbuster partnership is the first of its kind amongst community colleges in Kansas. This linkage provides opportunities for soldiers to gain valuable civilian and military education in a traditional student setting on the GCCC campus. In addition to education opportunities, this new partnership provides Kansas National Guard soldiers with access to the infrastructure at Garden City Community college to use for military training.
