The GCCC meats judging team had a stellar day of judging at the NACTA (National Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture) national meats judging competition held at Kansas State University in Manhattan, on April 8. The win marks the most dominating victory in the 30-year history of the GCCC meats team. The team won with a margin of victory of 356 points (the previous record was 228). Second place went to Fort Scott Community College. The team placed as champions in numerous categories including Beef Grading, Retail Identification, and Placings/Questions categories.
The victory is the 5th National Championship for the GCCC Meats Judging Team with wins in 2003, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017.
