GCCC Alumni Spotlight: Cassie Hull
[Garden City, KS] November 13, 2025 – Cassie Hull, originally from Dighton, Kansas, began her higher education journey at Garden City Community College in 2005, a decision she describes as one of the most pivotal choices in her life.
“I chose Garden City Community College because it was the perfect stepping stone between high school and a university,” Hull said. “At the time, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my future, but GCCC was a supportive place where I could explore different interests, gain confidence, and grow both personally and academically.”
During her time at GCCC, Hull immersed herself in campus life and leadership. She was a contributor, designer, and eventually Editor-in-Chief for The Silhouette student newspaper, as well as President of the Student Government Association. These experiences, she said, helped her find her voice and develop the confidence that would shape her professional journey.
“The most important thing I learned at GCCC was how to dream big and think outside the box,” Hull shared. “Through my involvement with The Silhouette newspaper staff and the guidance of incredible mentors and advisors (thank you, Laura York Guy!), I developed strong communication and leadership skills that I still use every day. GCCC taught me that the sky is the limit… and that mindset has shaped my entire career.”
After earning her associate degree from GCCC in 2007, Hull transferred to the University of Kansas, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in strategic communication.
Today, she serves as a Channel Sales Manager at Sectigo in Scottsdale, Arizona, a global leader in cybersecurity. “I manage top strategic partnerships across North America for Sectigo, a global leader in PKI solutions," Hull explained. “My role involves building and nurturing relationships with key partners, driving revenue growth, and helping organizations stay secure in an increasingly digital world. I collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, and technical teams to deliver impactful solutions and ensure mutual success.” She was also recently honored with the “2025 Women of the Channel" award.
Hull credits GCCC for laying the foundation that helped her succeed in a fast-paced and ever-evolving industry. “GCCC played a foundational role in my success,” she said. “It gave me the tools, confidence, and opportunities to grow into the professional I am today. From classroom experiences to extracurricular involvement, I learned how to lead, communicate effectively, and take initiative. Those skills have been essential throughout my 10+ year career in technology and cybersecurity, where I’ve had the chance to travel the world and build impactful partnerships.”
When asked what advice she would share with current students, Hull emphasized the importance of curiosity and courage. “Be open and take advantage of every opportunity GCCC offers! Whether it’s joining a club, connecting with a mentor, or exploring a new subject. You don’t have to have everything figured out right away. Take chances, have fun, don’t be afraid of failure, and trust that your experiences will guide you. GCCC is a place where you can discover your strengths and build a foundation for a successful future.”
Though her career path took unexpected turns, Hull said her time at GCCC gave her the confidence to take bold steps forward. “Although my career path turned out differently from what I imagined when I was at GCCC, I wouldn’t have had the courage to pursue something new and challenging without the support and experiences I had there. I’m incredibly grateful for my time at GCCC. It helped me become a confident, curious, and driven professional.”
Now balancing a thriving career with life as a wife and mother of three young children, Hull continues to live by the lessons she learned at GCCC. “Today, I’m not only building a successful career in cybersecurity, but I’m also a proud and busy wife and mom of three young children (ages 4, 2, and a baby). Balancing motherhood with a demanding career has taught me even more about the importance of dreaming big. I truly believe that everyone has the potential to live out their dreams. The sky is the limit, and GCCC helped me believe that was possible.”
