Under the direction of the CEO/College President, the Vice President for Administrative Services will be responsible for all aspects of financial and administrative management. The Vice President provides key leadership in operational financial funds; planning, forecasting and analysis; cash flow and audit. The Vice President must have demonstrated knowledge of leadership, financial systems, supervision of personnel, facilities, as well as, a comprehensive understanding of community college education.

The Vice President will provide visionary leadership for the administrative services organization, including, but not limited to, Fiscal Services (including the Business Office, Payroll) Human Resources, Campus Police, IT, Facilities, Public Relations/Marketing, Creative Services/Print Shop, Bookstore and Food Services.

Knowledge of:

  • Operating a successful educational institution or business.
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Contemporary computer skills.
  • Understanding all components of a resident serving institution of higher education.
  • Interpersonal skills which include effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Methods and techniques used in financial research and revenue forecasting.
  • Modern principles, practices, methods and techniques of finance and budgeting.
  • Principles and practices of employee performance evaluations.

Ability to:

  1. Analyze problems and identify solutions.
  2. Assist in developing policies and procedures for areas of the college.
  3. Understand data and develop strategies for implementation models of success.
  4. Communicate clearly, concisely and effectively, both orally and in writing, with diverse constituencies within and outside of the College.
  5. Coordinate the development and administration of a community college budget.
  6. Encourage a professional organizational culture underpinned with quality and excellence.
  7. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
  8. Evaluate the financial stability of the College.
  9. Forecast current and future revenues and expenditures affecting the College's financial condition.
  10. Interpret, apply and explain applicable college policies and procedures and local, State and federal laws and regulations.
  11. Undergo personal and financial background checks.
  12. Ability to be bonded as a financial officer of the college.

License or Certificate:

  1. Baccalaureate Degree required with masters or terminating degree preferred.
  2. Valid license as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred, but not required.
  3. Must possess a valid unrestricted Kansas Driver's License.
