Applicant must have collegiate coaching experience with an understanding of the NJCAA rules and regulations. The college competes under the Kansas Jayhawk Conference, Division I level. A successful background and demonstrated ability to motivate and recruit student athletes is required. The Head Coach will be responsible for the program success of this major sport program which includes recruiting of student athletes, departmental budget, student conduct, equipment inventory and coaching staff.

Applicant must have a Bachelor�s degree from an accredited institution with a Master�s Degree preferred.

Scope of Job:

Deliver a quality program underpinned with student athlete success in the classroom and on the field.


Reports to the Athletic Director


Commensurate with education and experience and includes an a complete fringe benefit package


Position will remain open until filled.

Work Schedule:

10 month assignment.


Based on the minimum and/or desirable qualifications. Paid monthly by the end of the month by direct deposit to your bank account.

Sick Leave:

10 days per year, accrues to 90 days total. Up to two days per year may be used as personal leave. Personal leave must be pre-approved by division director and appropriate dean.


Employee is covered by the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). Employee contributes 6% of gross.

Life Insurance:

$15,000 group term life insurance provided by Board, plus 1.5 times annual salary group term life insurance provided by KPERS.

Health Insurance:

Board provides up to $425.00 per month ($4800.00 per year) for a use-it-or-lose-it health insurance benefit through GCCC-sponsored health insurance plan.


Internal Revenue Code Section 125 Cafeteria Salary Reduction Plan allows employee to reduce compensation in amount necessary to purchase from nontaxable benefits contained in the plan and selected by the employee, including health (hospitalization) insurance, cancer insurance, Health Savings Account, medical expense reimbursement, dependent (child) care reimbursement.

May, at employee's discretion, take part in the matching tax-sheltered plan with TIAA-CREF. Employer match limited to $50.00.

Free GCCC tuition for self, spouse, and dependents (children) who are 21 years of age or younger and are financially supported by the respective staff member.
