The Practical Nursing Program prepares students for entry into the healthcare system as a Licensed Practical Nurse in just under a year. The Garden City Community College Department of Nursing Education faculty and students believe at the completion of the program the graduates will have the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and abilities needed to practice safely and effectively. As an entry level practical nurse, the graduate will be able to meet the clients basic needs throughout the lifespan requiring promotion, maintenance, and/or restoration of health. Upon successful completion of this program the students will be awarded a certificate, and will then be eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination to become Licensed as a Practical Nurse (LPN).
