Student Initiative Agreement

Completion of this application will determine eligibility for a GCCC Student Initiative for the selected academic year. Verification of need will be determined by the Garden City Community College Financial Aid Office. Students must meet the following qualifications: Students must have at least a 2.0 GPA from a previous institution. (Includes high school and college credits) Students must exhibit Financial Need or High Academic Merit to qualify for the initiative agreement.




This document must be completed and submitted to the Financial Aid Office for the Student Initiative Application to be considered and awarded. The FAFSA must be submitted through fafsa.ed.gov to Garden City Community College and all official, final transcripts must be submitted to the Garden City Community College Admissions Office before this award may be finalized.

Funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come/first serve basis. All book awards are book rental agreements. Students are required to return all textbooks at the end of the term in good condition or their account will be charged for damages. Tuition awards will not exceed 16 hours a semester.

Garden City Community College Student Initiative Terms

  1. I understand that I must enroll in at least 12 hours of college credit per semester.
  2. I understand that my grade point average (GPA) must meet or exceed the level required by the set criteria. If I do not meet the appropriate standard, renewal will be subject to committee review.
  3. I understand that offers for the Student Initiative Agreement will only be made through email.
  4. I understand that I must submit a Federal Application for Federal Student Aid through fafsa.ed.gov to Garden City Community College and all official, final transcripts must be submitted to the Garden City Community College Admissions Office before this award may be finalized.
  5. I understand that by clicking submit I confirm that I have read and understand these terms.
