Transition Program

Encounter a college career after being out of school for a while could be challenging.

The transition advisor strives to provide innovative opportunities that promote and help participants to successfully meet their educational and life goals in an environment that is committed to lifelong learning. Meeting with advisor on an individual bases in Career Planning before, during, and after GED completion. The transition advisor provides resourceful college staff guest speakers that are invited into the classroom as well as campus tours that are done individually or in groups.

The Garden City Community College transition program goal is to help you prepare to become a successful college student. The transition program is here to help you every step of the way by guiding you through advising in the following areas; counseling, applying for financial aid, meeting instructors, book store, college tours, test taking, and college resources.

Adult Learning Center students find that when they prepare rigorously for the GED exam, they become more successful at college classes.

Non-traditional students, the transition program will provide all help you need to enroll into college

The transition advisor’s office is located in the Student& Community Service Center (SCSC) building-lower level; hours are from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.
