Our Mission
To identify qualified individuals with potential for education at the post-secondary level. To encourage qualified individuals to complete secondary school and enter into a program of post-secondary education. To publicize the availability of student financial assistance to persons who pursue a program of post-secondary education. To encourage persons who have not completed secondary or post-secondary education, but who have the ability to complete those programs, to reenter those programs.
       
What is Educational Talent Search?
The Garden City Community College Educational Talent Search program is a federally funded TRIO program, which serves 650 residents of Finney county, Unified School Districts 457 and 363, who have been identified as having the academic potential and desire for continuing their education at the college level.

Eligibility Requirements  

Academic Success - the desire to work hard to achieve good grades

First Generation - neither parent has a four-year college degree

Taxable Income - federal TRIO guidelines

Post-Secondary Education - the desire to attend college or technical school

Age - At least 11 years of age or older

(Or - An adult who is interested in going back to college

         An adult who is interested in receiving a GED)

Grade - Have completed the 5th grade and entered 6th grade
