Minutes were approved.
AQUIP Action Ideas:
Members shared and discussed
possible action ideas for AQUIP criterion 6, 1 and 8. The following ideas were
listed and prioritized:
- Increase
campus bandwidth (instructor/staff areas)
- Add
more multimedia classrooms per building
- Increase
IT personnel
- Fulltime
multimedia person = technology trained person to teach instructors and
employees to use the latest media
- Fulltime
Teach & Learning Center personnel = to increase help to instructors
- Multimedia
lab = for instructors and employees to learn to use video/digital cameras
and audio equipment, create podcasts, record video, etc; this could be
incorporated into the Teaching & Learning Center, too
- Online
computer lab & research center = for instructors to learn how to
search the web for the best websites for their areas using the best search
engines; join online collaborative to share ideas, samples of assignments,
science projects etc.
- Increase
information on college web page to include online policies, forms, and add
a search bar to our web page. More integrated software to the web page.
- Language
lab for instructors and students
- Laptops
for instructors = have instructors use laptops and portable projectors
- Interactive
White Boards (Promethian White Board)
- Library
= online textbooks that can be used
The chairperson will take
the ideas to the next core committee meeting on Feb. 26.
Next meeting is scheduled
for 2pm Thursday, March 29.
