Kathy Blau presented the following rewritten documents:

            (1) Federal Family Educaiton Loan Program (FFELP)

            (2) Financial Aid Appeal Process, which included specific appeals for

                        (a) Denial of Stafford Student Loan Funds

                        (b) Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal of Financial Aid Denial

 

The documents were approved by the SEM committee and will be presented by Kurt Peterson at the next CORE meeting.

 

Kevin Brungardt spoke to the committee about retention issues. He proposed the following ideas:

            (1) Getting parents more involved at orientation

            (2) Surveying our students about their technology needs

            (3) Getting faculty and staff to help move students into the dorms

            (4) Getting groups from GCCC to go to area high schools to talk to parents

 

The next SEM committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 26 in the theatre of the Beth Tedrow Student Center at 12:30 p.m..
