Kathy Blau led a discussion concerning Section F of GCCC’s loan policy relating to the Federal Family Education Loan Program. She brought with her a copy of language that had been in an earlier GCCC catalog that was found to be very helpful.

 

Kathy will prepare a draft of a new section F (which relates to denying loans and the appeal process) which will be considered for committee approval at our next meeting.

 

As in previous meetings, committee members emphasized the strong relationship between recruiting, retention and repayment as well as the potential positive effect that students’ advisors can have.

 

The next meeting of the SEM Committee will be Thursday, April 12 at 12:30 p.m. in the SGA meeting room.
