| American Macroeconomics ECON111 |
Course Catalog Description: This course is a study of economic
problems with emphasis on aggregates. Particular attention will be given to
general economic problems, national income accounting, business cycles, money
and banking, international economics, and other aspects of our economy as a
whole. 3 credit hours.
Are you curious whether the federal deficit will affect you? What affects the prices you pay at the pump? Macroeconomics is an excellent course for those simply interested in the basics of how the economy works or those also interested in sociology, political science or social work.
Among other things, the course covers the basics of supply & demand and the circular flow model critical to understanding economic development even at the community level.
Either Macro or Micro may be taken first. Macroeconomics fulfills part of the
elective requirements for a business concentration for the Associate of Science
degree, or a portion of the social science core requirements for the AS degree
without the business concentration at GCCC. This course typically transfers
for business majors at four year schools. Information on specific transferability
is available through the following link, http://www.gcccks.edu/current/counseling/transferinfo.html
or by contacting the four year school you are interested in attending.
