As we try to understand at a basic level the science
-- old and new -- underlying this new Computational
Universe, new technologies emerge that challenge us
even further. From propositional logic to the quantum
mechanics of silicon chips and from networking and internet
search engines to efficient algorithms, our curricula
place equal emphasis on theoretical, practical, and
experimental computer science. Areas of study range
across the entire spectrum of computer science. You
will learn skills that enable you to oversee the operation
of computer hardware systems, including networks of
personal computers. You will also be educated to anticipate
problems and take preventive action, as well as solve
problems that occur during operations.
Opportunities in this new Universe will
be best for graduates with a formal computer-related
education, a familiarity with a variety of operating
systems, and up-to-date knowledge of the latest technology.

operation, and user support and database management
