Qualifications:

Must have a high school education or GED. Six months to two years of similar or related experience.

Scope of Job:

Oversee transportation department, maintain all college vehicles, schedule bus drivers, schedule routine maintenance & check-out vehicles to college staff and maintain records. Oversee departmental budget and purchasing. Occasional on-duty, weekend and evening hours are required of this position.

Assignment:

Reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities.

Salary:

Based on qualifications and experience.

Salary:

Based on qualifications and experience. Paid monthly by the end of the month by hard copy check or direct deposit to your bank account.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 12-month position. Must be available to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

Sick Leave:

12 days per year accrues to 90 days total. Paid sick leave not available until after successful completion of 60 days of continuous employment.

Vacation:

Earned at the rate of one day per month during years one through five of continuous employment, and 1.25 days per month thereafter. Paid vacation leave not available until after successful completion of six months of continuous employment.

Retirement:

Employee is covered by the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). Employee contributes 6% of gross.

Life Insurance:

$15,000 group term life insurance provided by Board, plus 1.5 times annual salary group term life insurance provided by KPERS.

Health Insurance:

Board provides up to $425.00 per month ($5100.00 per year) for a use-it-or-lose-it health insurance benefit through GCCC-sponsored health insurance plan.

Benefits:

Internal Revenue Code Section 125 Cafeteria Salary Reduction Plan allows employee to reduce compensation in amount necessary to purchase from nontaxable benefits contained in the plan and selected by the employee, including health (hospitalization) insurance, cancer insurance, Health Savings Account, medical expense reimbursement, dependent (child) care reimbursement.

May, at employee's discretion, take part in the matching tax-sheltered plan with TIAA-CREF. Employer match limited to $50.00.

Free GCCC tuition for self, spouse, and dependents (children) who are 21 years of age or younger and are financially supported by the respective staff member.

Free pass for self and immediate family members to most college-sponsored activities.
