DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

QUALIFICATIONS:           BachelorÕs degree or equivalent required. Five to ten years of similar or related experience. Excellent communication skills. Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management and policy development. Previous supervisory and management experience required. Certification in Microsoft, Unix and other related O/S and software applications preferred.

 

SCOPE OF JOB:                Oversee IT staff and manage information technology department including system designs, project management and policy development. Develop goals and objectives to ensure that Information Technology supports the mission, goals and objectives of the college. Maintain efficient administration of the information technology department. Develop department budgets, make employment recommendations, develop information technology specifications and obtain bids. Oversee purchasing and inventory of all materials, services, and goods related to the operation and maintenance of the technological systems of the college.

 

ASSIGNMENT:                  Reports to the Executive Dean of Administrative Services and through the dean to the College President. This is a 12-month position.

 

SALARY:                           Based on qualifications and experience.

SALARY:                    Based on qualifications and experience. Paid monthly by the end of the month by direct deposit to your bank account.

SICK LEAVE:            10 days per year accrues to 60 days total.

 

VACATION:               Earned at the rate of one day per month during years one through five of continuous employment, and 1.25 days per month thereafter.

 

RETIREMENT:          Employee is covered by the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System

                                    (KPERS). Employee contributes 4% of gross.

 

LIFE INSURANCE:    $15,000 group term life insurance provided by Board, plus 1.5 times annual

                                    salary group term life insurance provided by KPERS.

 

HEALTH INSURANCE:    Board provides up to $367.88 per month for a use-it-or-lose-it

                                    health insurance benefit through GCCC-sponsored health insurance plan.

 

BENEFITS:                 Internal Revenue Code Section 125 Cafeteria Salary Reduction Plan allows

                                    employee to reduce compensation in amount necessary to purchase from

                                    nontaxable benefits contained in the plan and selected by the employee, including

                                    health (hospitalization) insurance, cancer insurance, short-term disability (salary

                                    protection) insurance, medical expense reimbursement, dependent (child) care

                                    reimbursement.

                                   

                                    May, at employeeÕs discretion, take part in the matching tax-sheltered plan with

                                    TIAA-CREF 403(b).
