The GCCC Criminal Justice program, initiated in 1969, has built a strong reputation for its emphasis on hands-on learning. Experiences focus on team building and leadership, and on graduates not only learning the theory base, but also applying their abilities and techniques to real life. A Fire Science Program was added in 2002, creating the Department of Public Safety.

Class sizes are normally limited to 20, enhancing the application of hands-on projects and team-building techniques. Classrooms feature state-of-the art computer presentation capabilities.
