Style of Play
Depending upon personnel and opposition, Coach Huffman decides on tactics and a formation that he feels will give the team the best chance to win. Overall, the Lady Busters style of play gives them the best chance to succeed. Even in defeat, the Lady Busters give teams problems and make it difficult for them through out the 90 minutes. The Lady Busters have proven they can adapt their style of play to a wide variety of competition.
Back line/Team Defense
Ideally if the Lady Busters start in the back, the team will control the ball in the backline and play it quickly to the midfield. Defensively, the back line is taught to do what ever they have to do to make sure no one gets in behind them. Defensively as a whole immediate chase, numbers behind the ball and team compactness will always be keys to keeping opponents off the scoreboard.
Midfield
If a center midfielder receives a ball, they look to play a ball to the forwards that will shred a defense or play the ball wide. If the ball is played wide, the outside midfielders or wingers are encouraged to turn the corner and get to goal. If the ball is played from an outside back or midfielder to the center of the park, the center midfielders first option is to A)find the forward and then-if need be- B) switch the point of attack. With the ball out wide, this will give the team a chance to move forward as a unit and stretch the opposition in the process.
Forwards
In the final third, individual creativity is encouraged as well as high offensive pressure. The front line very rarely low pressures an opponent’s back line, as the high pressure they perform forces teams into turnovers and opportunities for the Lady Busters.
Set pieces
As many numbers are thrown forward as possible on offensive set pieces, while making sure enough players are kept back and/or in position to minimize the counter attack. Defensively, we make sure we have enough bodies back to –at least-mark man for man. |
