LADY BUSTERS GET FIRST 08’ COLORADO RECRUIT
Ashley
Crowley, a two year varsity starter at Highland Ranch (Colorado) High School,
becomes the second recruit of the Lady Buster Soccer 2008 recruiting class for
Coach Huffman. Crowley played her club soccer from her freshman-junior seasons
for the Colorado Elite Soccer Club. Her junior season she competed a year up
and played as a U-17 in the Colorado State League at the U-18 age level in the
Premier 1 classification---which is known as the second most competitive
division in the state at the U-18 age level behind the Elite 1 classification.
This team was full of mostly seniors, as Ashley then moved on to play for the
very competitive Real Colorado Athletico squad in the
fall of 2007, where that team also competed in the Premier 1 classification. In
February of 2008, the organization of Real Colorado was named by Soccer America
as the 10th best Girls soccer club in the entire country. Soccer America
selects the top 25 clubs, based on success of their teams in national youth
championships over the last three years and national recognition for players
(including U.S. national youth team selections, NSCAA/Adidas Youth
All-Americans and U.S. Youth Soccer ODP Interregional All-Stars) from these
clubs in 2007.
“I saw Ashley play for
the Colorado Elite back in May 2006 at the Colorado Showcase held at Dicks
Sporting Goods Park, as I had kept tabs on her since,” Head Women’s Soccer
Coach Jeff Huffman stated. “Ashley has the ability to play either an outside
midfield or a forward role for us. I fully expect Ashley to draw upon her vast
club experience and bring to this program the ability to-not only score goals-
but a winning mentality to the program thru her past club successes.”
