COLORADO NATIVE TABBED AS ALL-REGION
Brooke
Lindholm, a freshman back from Aurora, CO (suburb of
Denver) was picked as a Second Team All-Region selection by the junior college
coaches of Kansas. Lindholm becomes only the second
player picked as an All-Region selection for the Lady Busters. She follows
Jackie Cojon-who was also a second team All Region
selection-during the Fall 2005 and 2006 seasons.
Lindholm
attended Gateway High School and played her youth club soccer for the reputable
Colorado Storm Soccer Club. Coach Huffman saw her compete during the Sport
Source Showcase in Dallas in December of 2006. Lindholm
also competes for the institutional debate team at GCCC, coached by Mark Jarmer.
“It is a real tribute
for Brooke to be recognized by the coaches of Region 6,” states Head Women’s
Soccer Coach Jeff Huffman. “Brooke was the only marking back that was named as
either an All-Conference or All-Region selection. Her position as a marking back
is one that does not stand out for other coaches to notice right away. It is
obvious through her selection that she earned the respect of enough coaches
that saw her play. These same coaches recognized her attributes in a position
that gets so little recognition in the selection process.”
