Busters ride tough "D" to win
HIGHLAND -- A stingy defense vaulted Garden City Community College to a 37-10 victory Saturday at Highland.
The Broncbusters' front four were relentless in pressuring Highland's Corey Ward, sacking the freshman quarterback eight times and forcing three interceptions. Two of the three thefts were snagged by defensive back Dontrell Johnson. .more.
Aslin to Busters: not to overlook Scotties
Just like any head coach, Lucas Aslin is always going to make sure his team is aware of anything that could knock them off course.
It goes with the job.
It's also reason enough why, during his meeting with his Garden City Community College football team last Sunday evening, he mentioned that it was important they don't take Highland lightly. No one around the Broncbuster football program would know that better than defensive coordinator Jacob Cox. In 2006, Cox was a defensive assistant coach at Butler County, undefeated and on its way to a chance at the national championship game. The Grizzlies stumbled on the final game of the regular season, losing to Highland 43-29. All hopes of a national championship were doused for Butler..more.

Former teamates meet for reunion to honor coach
It all started two years ago when Bill Perry decided it was time to do a search.
A member of the Garden City Community College football team in 1959-60, Perry began looking for former teammates from his days in Garden City when he played running back and end. Through hours of Internet searches and phone calls, Perry started to find teammates. Some he ran into by chance meeting like Darrell Bryant, who lives in Cimarron and Bob Pfannenstiel from Dodge City. Perry, who lives in Leavenworth and coaches football at the high school, was hoping to one day be able to set
up a reunion..more.

Busters ready to move forward after loss to Fort Scott
Two games into the Jayhawk Conference schedule and the Garden City Community College Broncbusters are in a spot no team wants to be in. Last.
One look at the Broncbusters conference schedule after two games though, starting against last year's one and two finishers in the overall standing, won't leave many teams smiling either to see Butler and Fort Scott as the first two conference games on the schedule. It is what it is, and no one on the Garden City (2-2, 0-2) side will complain, especially now that there's still plenty of football to be played...more....
Fort Scott continues its dominance over Busters
FORT SCOTT -- Garden City Community College played another of the nation's best teams down to the wire. But, yet again, the 14th-ranked Broncbusters came up just short as they dropped a 31-24 Jayhawk Conference verdict to No. 12 Fort Scott at Frary Field here Saturday afternoon...more....

Busters ground Air Force Prep 30-7
Garden City Community College didn’t need to worry about a quick strike offense this week. And with the way Saturday night’s non-conference game at Memorial Stadium started, it was a good thing. The Broncbusters turned the ball over on their first two possessions on an interception into the end zone and a Cameron Kenney fumble at the Air Force Prep 6-yard line. But with the defense clamping down on a potent Husky offense, the Buster offense was able to find enough steam to run away for a 30-7 win.more....
