PROJECTIONS
- Host
a Writing Symposium on campus in 2008 through the English Department
- Obtain Ethernet and/or wireless network access
for Library and CLC users with laptops or handheld PCs
- Seek
proxy server authentication for off-campus access to library’s
subscription databases
- Transform Saffell Library into a vital,
contemporary facility that attracts students and enhances learning
- Create
a flag in Datatel for students ready for the Outcome Assessment (~45Hrs)
- Increase
involvement with community and campus partners
- Establish the BEC as an area wide information
center for educators, students, and business owners
- Expand
SWKRPC knowledge base and activities in early childhood development
- Build
the GCCC Public Safety and Health Services building as ‘the place’ for
criminal justice, EMST and Fire Science technology
- Hire document imaging firm to archive all
financial aid information, thus moving to paperless system
- Employ
emerging GCCC broadcast program for promotional purposes
- Create
a promotional campaign for GED graduates to help make the transition to
college courses
- Develop a campus tour CD for those who do not
reside in this area the opportunity to “visit” campus
- Pilot
and implement electronic certification rosters
- Explore
possibility of electronic transcript requests via the GCCC website and/or
email
- Provide SSS service to students who are
low-income, first generation, and students with disabilities
- Plan/assist
with career activities directed at elementary and middle school students
- Hire
a full-time financial aid employee as Scholarship Coordinator and assist
with federal financial aid verification
- Develop
a long-term goal for GCCC Leadership Development to involve past
participants and strengthen program
- Re-acquire
humidity control system for the Print Shop or portable humidifier (for
paper stock and better function of printing and copying equipment)
- Continue
involvement in the Datatel implementation process until completion of all
phases
- Redesign the layout of the Information Technology
Center for execution of workflow, quiet and privacy
- Analyze
staff support systems for efficiency and develop plan to streamline
- Prepare
contracts and letters of appointment on Datatel system
- Construct
campus storage building
