€ Assessment services were previously funded through the Counseling/Advising department. Now that funding for a stand alone Assessment Center has been secured, assessment services can no longer be lumped with the services offered through Counseling/Advising.
€ License fees are only required for three of the seven assessments offered. However, GCCC funds the cost of the placement test offered to all incoming students. With the development of an Internet version of COMPASS, we plan to administer this placement test to all outreach students, replacing the paper-pencil ASSET test previously administered. This will increase the cost of testing supplies as answer sheets for the ASSET test were funded through recently ended grant programs.
€ Standardized tests are to be returned by a traceable mail source resulting in a need for a flexible postage allotment.
€ Travel to all outreach sites will be necessary this coming year as additional support in needed with the implementation of the COMPASS Internet version. Travel is also required to maintain relationships with SCCC and DCCC, both colleges we serve as an ACT WorkKeys Service Center. In addition, I am applying to present GCCCΥs incoming, imbedded, and outcomes assessment plan at the NCTA national conference.
€ A separate sign-in system is needed for students participating in assessment procedures. Additional signage is also needed to distinguish the whole class out-of-class testing center from the Assessment Center that offers placement and supplemental academic testing.
