2003 Achievements in Learner Success:

á      Offered free eye clinic for adult and youth students at the FCCLC

á      Sponsored free eyeglasses for 35 students

á      Provided materials and training to students in issues regarding health, financial management, nutrition, oral care, family life education, legal rights, housing, and mental health to approximately 1200 students and their families.

á      213 students and/or families visited the professionally-staffed health clinic

á      Sponsored three educational field trips for alternative high school students.

á      Secured extra funding for adult education program

 

2003 Achievements in Strengthening College Processes:      

á      Coordinator Served on four different college committees: Community Relations, Employee Development, Student Center Celebration, and 5-State Muti-Cultural Committee

á      Provided three academic field trips, two job-shadow matches, and 41 trips to the Cosmetology Department for students and staff.

á      Worked with Southwest Kansas Regional Prevention Center on several projects.

á      Provided $1,500 in scholarships and materials for KidsÕ College with grant funding.

 

2003 Achievements in Service to the Community

á      Produced 4,500 Finney County Resource Guides for distribution to 79 community organizations.

á      Provided family life education training and materials to clients of various organizations: Families Together, Parents as Teachers, Even Start, 5 elementary schools, Salvation Army, YMCA, Dominican Sisters Home-Visitor Program, Lee Richardson Zoo, and U.S.D. # 457.

á      Sponsored home-visiting program for abused women.

á      Chair Community Services Council, a monthly gathering of all human service organization and agencies in the county

á      Wrote and managed grants for 5 community service organizations

                                               

2004-2005 Goals for Helping Students Learn:

á      Continue to survey students and community to determine needs

á      FRC will continue to seek funds that contribute to the learning environment

á      Technologies equipment update and replacement

á      Continue Family Life Education programs to address student, family and community needs.

á      Continue to seek funds for Family Resource CenterÕs projects that serve students and families

 

2004-2005 Goals for Leading and Communicating:

á      Complete GCCC Leadership Training

á      Participate in more campus projects and committees

á      Increase contacts between students and main campus staff

á      Increase opportunities for specialized staff development

á      Continue to build relationships that provide health services at the FCCLC

 

2004-2005 Planning Continuous Improvement:

á      Secure new facilities with FCCLC.

á      Secure Family Life Education certification for FRC staff

á      Solicit funding to expand FRC activities at new sites.

 

2006 and Beyond Ð Projections:

á      Continue to secure funding for Family Resource Center
