JONES THIRD COMMITMENT FROM COLORADO

Mary Jones, an outside midfielder from Fountain, CO, has become the third women's soccer player from the state of Colorado to commit to the Lady Busters for the 2007 fall season.

Jones comes from a military family and has lived in various places. She was born in the Philippines , has lived in Japan and has lived in the states of California , Arizona , and Colorado .

Jones grew up playing the sport of soccer and got her first taste of international soccer while playing for her high school team-Kubasakai High School -while living in Japan . She was a varsity member her freshman year. The fall of her sophomore and junior years she was a varsity starter at Twentynine Palms High School in California . Jones moved half way through her junior school year to Colorado . She had the unique pleasure of playing two seasons of high school soccer her junior season, when she played the fall in California and in the spring of her junior season for Fountain Fort Carson High School —located roughly 15 miles south of Colorado Springs . Jones was a varsity starter her junior and senior seasons at Fountain Fort Carson, as her team won the Mesa Ridge Invitational in March of her senior season. Jones also brings with her a solid work rate in the class room, as she carries a 3.4 GPA.

“I was very happy when Mary decided to become a Buster,” Head Women's Soccer Coach Jeff Huffman states. Mary has the ability to play either outside midfield role, as she is very capable to serve an accurate ball from the flanks with both feet--- a rarity in the Jayhawk Conference. She has a very strong leg and has the ability to put the ball where she wants on corner kicks, which will be a weapon we will look to utilize.”
