SECOND HERNANDEZ COMMITS TO LADY BUSTERS

With her older sister, Noemi, already committed to play for the Lady Busters for the Fall 07' season-Silvana Hernandez decided to follow her sisters lead and become the sixth commitment for the Busters for the Fall 2007 season---all before February 1 st .

Silvana Hernandez, a Mexican immigrant who migrated to the United States at the age of 13, was born in Guanajunato , Mexico . Hernandez saw action at the varsity level for Garden City High School during the Spring of 2006. She will be counted on to come in and provide some valuable minutes after the surprise retirement of soccer from Lady Buster freshman Lindsay Smith, who has decided to hang up her cleats due to chronic knee problems.

In the Spring of 2006, the Lady Buffaloes recorded their best season ever-winning the WAC and Regional Championships. Hernandez also played in 2006 for the summer adult league team, the Cobras, that won the regular season and post season tournament championships.

With Lindsey's decision to not to continue to play collegiate soccer, it was imperative I find a wing midfielder that could provide for me a strong work rate, solid pace and someone who had the abiltity to beat her defender and get to goal,” Head Women's Soccer Coach Jeff Huffman states. I feel I have found that person in Silvana Hernandez. Having a sister combination on a team will be a first for the program, yet it should be a first that will provide dividends over the course of two seasons.”
