Jenny is a native of Pleasanton, NE, where she excelled in both basketball and volleyball as a high school athlete. Jenny was a 3 time all conference and all region basketball player and was named to the all state team her junior and senior seasons. As a volleyball athlete she was named player of the year in her region as well as receiving numerous all conference, all region, and all state honors.

While being recruited heavily in both sports Jenny choose to attend Barton County Community College in Great Bend, KS and play basketball. In her freshman year Jenny’s squad advanced to the region semi final game before being eliminated by Seward County Community College. Who then went on to win the National Championship. For her efforts, Jenny was named to the 3rd team All Jayhawk West all conference team. During her sophomore year Jenny continued to excel and was named one of the top 30 junior college prospects in America.  

Jenny choose to continue her academic and athletic career at Oklahoma State University where she was named team captain. For her senior season Jenny chose to return to Nebraska and finish her career at the University of Nebraska Kearney. Fighting through a broken hand that forced her to red shirt the 2003-2004 season and a foot surgery that kept her sidelined the first half of the 2004-2005 season, she returned to the court the second half of the season and was named to the Rocky Mountain athletic conference honorable mention team. Jenny graduated from UNK with a physical education comprehensive degree.   For the past two seasons Jenny has been an assistant coach for Dakota State University in Madison, SD.  While there her team made it to the National tournament both years.  In her first season as a coach the Lady T’s made it to the Elite 8 of the national tournament. Before getting beat out by eventual national champion Hastings College from Hastings, NE.    

Jenny is the daughter of Darrel and Kris Brown of Pleasanton, NE. She also has an older brother Jason who played basketball and graduated from UNK. Jason and his wife Abby have a daughter Emma who live in Creston, NE.
