Lady Buster Soccer Signs “Dynamic Duo”

In a move that immediately improves the 2006 Lady Buster squad, Head Women's Soccer Coach Jeff Huffman is pleased to announce the signings of Leavenworth (KS) High School Pioneer products Aggie Kozak and Amalee Dykes. Coach Huffman saw these two ladies in competition at the Heartland Soccer Association Tournament in November.

Both student athletes are four year varsity players for Leavenworth High School . They have a vast array of club soccer experience, playing as teammates at mostly the same club's since the U-10 age level.

Kozak plays in the backline at the high school level yet played forward for her club team-Leavenworth United Thunder-during the Fall of 2005, where she led the team in goals scored. The forward position is where Coach Huffman in vision's her playing as a Lady Buster. Kozak played club soccer at the U-10 and U-11 age level for Azzurri. She played competitively for the Twisters Soccer Club at the U-12 thru U-15 age level, while playing for one season at the U-16 age level for the KC Nomads. She has played the last two seasons at the U-17 and U-18 age levels respectively for the Leavenworth United Thunder. Kozak also brings three years of ODP experience to the table, making the Kansas ODP State Pool during 2000 and 2001, while making the Kansas State ODP team in 2002.

Coach Huffman states, “Aggie has the ability to lead our team in goals scored like she did for her club team this past fall. Her experience at the club and ODP levels can only help the team and will further along the growth of the program. Aggie's personality is one that is infectious, as she has a positive attitude and unique outlook on many things.”

Dykes plays in the center of the backline at the high school level. She played club soccer for Azzurri at the U-11 age level. From U-12 thru U-15 she played competitively for the Twisters Soccer Club, while playing one season for the KC Nomads. Dykes-along with Kozak-has played the last two seasons at the U-17 and U-18 age levels respectively for the Leavenworth United Thunder.

Coach Huffman comments, “One of my recruiting needs was finding a competent center back. Aggie brings to this position the speed and athleticism it takes to be successful in the Jayhawk Conference. Amalee also carries a stellar 4.2 GPA and is looking to be part of the “honors program” here at GCCC. There is nothing but positives all around with Amalee's signing.”
